BEST ASSOCIATION PARTNERSHIP OR COLLABORATION
Association for Learning Technology – The Future of Learning in partnership with ITN Productions
The Association for Learning Technology and ITN Productions launch The Future of Learning, a news-style co-production exploring the benefits of technology to assist learning, training & development for staff and students, and highlights the importance of the EdTech sector.
In 2020 the coronavirus pandemic saw an immediate closure of schools and colleges as lessons moved from students sitting in classrooms to sitting at home, learning online. The Future of Learning focuses on the role of learning technologists in both online and face to face learning, the challenges faced and solutions to support learning, the value that technology brings and explores what the future of learning will look like beyond the crisis.
Anchored by ITN Productions presenter Sharon Thomas, the programme showcases the latest technology and innovations in online learning that are supporting the industry, re-imagining and redefining the classroom, connecting teachers with students and revolutionising teaching.
Featuring key sector interviews, independent news items and a series of sponsored profiles led by ITN Productions Industry News, reported and filmed on location and remotely, The Future of Learning demonstrates the support ALT provides to its members through forward-thinking professional development, research and education.

British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology and World Allergy Organization UK Scientific Meeting
Allergy is a major issue in the UK, more research is needed to understand why allergy is so prevalent in developed countries. In 2018 BSACI was successful in a bid to host a joint international allergy meeting with the World Allergy Organization (WAO).
The meeting focused on our collaborations with national and international societies, as the issues we have are on a global scale. The collaboration and combined expertise of BSACI and WAO, alongside the support of our sister societies guaranteed us a global collaboration of true scientific magnitude. Global experts spoke on the effects of environment on allergy, covering huge issues on the effect of pollution, the climate, helminths and viruses on allergy. Evidence was presented showing those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds are more likely to be exposed to related risks of COVID and how these issues could be tackled effectively globally. We invited other international societies and associations from Japan, American and Europe to share their allergy expertise.
The meeting closed with a big bang once in a life-time presentation that highlighted advances and breakthroughs in biologics, anaphylaxis, immunotherapy and everything that has the potential to change our clinical practice on a global scale forever.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in collaboration with HMRC
ICAEW joined forces with HMRC to respond to a challenge from the Economic Crime Strategic Board for both bodies to ‘do more’ to stop accountants being inadvertent professional enablers of money laundering. The response – the creation of the drama film All Too Familiar – is both unique and innovative. As a result of a decision by both bodies to distribute the film and jointly developed training materials for free, it is also likely to be a game-changer in the important fight against economic crime.
Subject matter experts from ICAEW and HMRC worked on the story and script to ensure that the film portrays a realistic scenario and careful research was carried out to ensure that it would be relevant to all sizes of accountancy firms. And the feedback has been great! That includes strong Government support for the initiative at the launch event in March.
The film (www.icaew.com/alltoofamiliar) has been individually streamed over 7,000 times and is being embedded in the training programmes of all of the major UK accountancy firms. It is now going global – there has been strong interest from global training teams of the international accountancy networks in rolling it out world-wide.
National Residential Landlords Association and Think
Think – a content marketing agency specialising in membership communications – were tasked with launching the magazine for the newly-formed National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) to reflect the new team, business culture and objectives. We launched Property magazine in Spring 2020 to unite residential landlords and become the leading magazine for the sector.
Reflecting the member-first ethos of the organisation, Property showcases diverse, inspirational landlord stories alongside campaigning, legislation updates and advice. It also includes features on wider issues affecting landlords, property investment and the private rental sector, offering unique expert insight and analysis.
In the last year, Property has cemented its position as a leading magazine for both the industry and wider membership sphere. It is now multi-award-winning publication that has spear headed an omnichannel comms programme including a podcast series, e-newsletters, online content, webinars and TikTok. Not to mention annual revenues are up 46% year-on-year and climbing.
The NRLA and Think have worked tirelessly to create a compelling, perspective-challenging campaign. As a result, we’ve produced an industry-leading magazine that supports the organisation’s mission to create a rental sector that works for all.
