BEST NEW EVENT BY AN ASSOCIATION
АLL Digital & Huawei EU – #MapTheGap – Digital Skills for Digital Europe
ALL DIGITAL, Huawei, powered by EY created a White Paper exploring the digital skills shortages. For the launch event held at Solvay Library in Brussels, we created a run-up campaign with a Digital Skills Dap Quiz that brought to life 6 distinct personas under the hashtag
#MapTheGap. The campaign was the hook to the event, driving attendance and anticipation.
The launch event was a success due to a strong run-up campaign that relied on a great insight: Digital skills are not a given and we all lack a skill or two, regardless of our experience, education, and occupation.
The campaign had its own visual identity and key visuals that were part of the event branding. We sent out four weekly newsletters shaped through the prism of the creative concept to maximise registrations and get people excited about the event. Media outreach and stakeholder mapping sustained the campaign strategy and helped ensure media coverage.
As a result, we managed to exceed our event attendance goals by 30% and received praise for the organisation and creative campaign from many key stakeholders, including MEPs. The event was also covered by key EU media such as Euractiv, The Parliament Magazine and EuroEFE.
Association of Corporate Treasurers – ACT Reunion Dinner
The ACT Reunion Dinner perfectly demonstrated the importance of people being able to connect in a live environment and revive those oh-so-important business relationships in a social setting. After two long years with no live dinner event, the ACT created this occasion as a way to bring together our members and the wider treasury community to meet their needs, as well as lend a welcomed financial boost to the organisation at the end of two tough years.
We took time ahead of the event to consult with some of our senior treasurers and influencers, sound out the concept, and ensure the right approach was taken to ensure our guests felt comfortable. The event was planned with our guests in mind, from ensuring maximum capacity was avoided, to create space around our tables, to personal invites sent from our Chief Exec, to a superbly-delivered auction on the night – with prizes donated by various contacts, including our own Chief Exec! The result? An event with a ‘personal touch’, that sold out almost as soon as it was launched. It exceeded all expectations, both strategic and financial, and set the scene for a return to live events for the ACT in 2022.
Builders Merchants Federation – The Building a Sustainable Britain Parliamentary Reception
Ahead of the landmark UNCOP 26 Climate Conference last year, the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF), held its second Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons, bringing members together with decision-makers on a national level, to demonstrate sustainable innovation in the sector, launch a key policy document and set out the ways Government can support future strides towards ‘greener’ outcomes in the construction industry supply chain, which is integral to the circular economy.
Providing opportunities to showcase innovative new products from BMF members, which are more energy efficient and help people live more sustainable lives, was a major objective of the ‘Building a Sustainable Britain’ event, helping decision-makers to gain insight into the progress already made and what is currently in development.
Another key aim was to bring industry figures and parliamentarians together to share views on routes to improved environmental outcomes and effective use of resources, as well as wider challenges such as reaching Carbon Zero targets and decarbonising homes.
As well as contributing to the financial success of the Parliamentary Reception event, sponsors and supporters provided exhibition stands at the event, with product and service innovations on display and staff on hand to discuss the latest innovations in sustainability.
Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
In June 2021, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) hosted an international public finance conference with the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) in Skopje, North Macedonia: Supporting Accounting and Auditing Developments and Synergies.
The conference was organised in a third country (North Macedonia) remotely by an organisation based in the UK (CIPFA) and another based in Slovenia (CEF), at a time when travel restrictions and COVID-19 vaccination programmes were fluctuating constantly across various countries. This was CIPFA’s first time hosting a two-day, hybrid conference in a foreign country.
In-line with CIPFA’s charitable objectives, this event was free for all to attend, and we are proud that. The conference programme featured a range of high-profile public finance experts from various multi-lateral and international organisations, academic institutions, and government ministries.
Given the volatility linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the fact that this was the first hybrid event we conducted with this international partner, CIPFA views the fact that it was well attended as a real success. So much so that we are hosting this year’s conference again with CEF (to be held in Tirana, Albania) and have now doubled the size of the 2022 conference.
Eurogas Brussels Renewable Barbecue 2021
A celebration of renewable gas, Eurogas is the association representing the European gas sector. With its progressive mindset, Eurogas advocates for low-carbon and renewable gases-based solutions to be an integral part of the energy transition and a carbon neutral future.
More than ever, the role of renewable gases has been at the forefront of the news with a huge increase in renewable gas foreseen in Europe by 2030. To underline Eurogas’ members commitment to renewable gases, Eurogas organised a Summer Renewable Barbecue on 2 September 2021 in Brussels. The gas used for the BBQ was BioLPG.
The concept of the event was to have two BBQ chefs and their respective teams, GRILL and CHILL, competing for the best Renewable Barbecue Championship medallion. The beverages team, called for the occasion REFILL, made sure that guests had all the drinks they needed.
The audience was genuinely happy to reconnect in-person and network in a relaxed ambiance. The nice summer weather also contributed to the positive mood.
National Hair & Beauty Federation – Top 100 Influencer Awards
Hair & beauty visual industry, with professionals who are early adopters of new technology, in particular social media. Instagram is the preferred industry channel, with Tik Tok and Facebook close seconds, all seeing an explosive rise in video content. These channels enable salons and industry professionals to demonstrate their skill, expertise and creative talent easily and quickly, without having to resort to wordy explanations.
During the pandemic the NHBF became the most trusted ‘go-to’ source for accurate information and saw our Instagram following rise to 87.7K. Building on this new audience we launched the Top 100 Influencers in July 2021, to celebrate those professionals in our industry sharing trends, advice, and knowledge with their peers. We invited people to nominate themselves or as many people as they wanted to create a list of 250, which was then analysed by an independent expert agency to established the Top 100.
100-21 were announced from November 8th, with the final 20 invited to a physical award event, held in central London and hosted by Telegraph Group Beauty Director, Sonia Haria. This was also live streamed. In the announcement week The Top 100 reached 49,417 (20.6K Followers and 28.8K non-followers) on Instagram.
