BII News is a quarterly magazine mailed to the BII’s members. The magazine’s content is a thoughtful mix of trade news, professional insight and what we describe as ‘sharing success’ – bringing dynamic and interesting stories of success to life, to share with fellow members. As a people-facing industry, having a magazine that is full of real-life stories, people’s opinions and hands-on experience is crucial.
BII News adheres to the highest production and editorial standards, under the editorship of Kate Oppenheim, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality/ retail sector. From the well-researched and professionally produced articles to the brilliant design, which is directed and executed by Basia Paczesna-Vercueil, BII News aims to exceed expectations, while always delivering to the highest standards.
We also take pride in remaining a ‘print publication’, which we believe best serves our readership – time poor professionals, who like to read BII News in instalments, returning to articles when they have the time, as well as sharing it with the senior leadership team.
Knowing our membership – licensees and owners of hospitality business, predominantly pubs – as we do, we ensure the magazine remains relevant and valued.

The Payments Association – Payments Intelligence
Payments Intelligence is the flagship publication of The Payments Association, created to deliver actionable insight to leaders across the financial and fintech sectors. Designed for C-suite, product, and compliance professionals, the publication has transformed from a standard newsletter into a data-rich, member-driven intelligence platform.
In 2024–25, three major editorial innovations elevated its strategic value: an AI-powered Market Trends report offering 2025 forecasts, a Consumer Behaviour Survey conducted with YouGov, and a Quarterly Regulatory & Compliance report tailored to legal and risk professionals. These additions were shaped by extensive member surveying to ensure real-world relevance.
Alongside its strategic focus, Payments Intelligence introduced significant design enhancements, including interactive graphs, video content, accessibility features, and an embedded data dashboard. These changes led to a 300%+ increase in average read time and an engagement jump from 7% to 57% of member companies.
Nearly 100 members have contributed to the publication, with 3–4 member voices featured in each article. This co-created approach has built strong community ownership, with 78% of surveyed members stating they would be “very disappointed” to lose access.
As a trusted, high-impact resource, Payments Intelligence now plays a vital role in advancing the Association’s goals and serving its member community.
